Reset of old cookie

Hello, we just updated the cookie consent solution to allow optin for categories 1,2,3,4,5. We previously used the solution without category consent.

What we noticed though is that it's working fine on new users. But on previously opted-in users the new banner consent (with categories) is not shown because the old iubenda cookie is already set in the browser - without the categories of course.

Is there away to reset old cookies and to force every use to optin again with the new banner?

Thank you for your question.


You can use the optional parameter askConsentAtCookiePolicyUpdate: "true" in order to request new consent when the Cookie Policy is updated.

Alternatively, you can use this other parameter invalidateConsentBefore: “YYYY-MM-DD” in order to invalidate all consents collected prior to a specific date.

To reset old cookies and show the new banner with updated consent options to previously opted-in users, implement a cookie reset mechanism. Identify users without category consent, remove or reset their old iubenda cookies. Communicate the update in your policy. Comply with relevant laws. Seek legal advice if needed.
