A/B-Testing is a powerful tool to improve the effectiveness of a product. For example Facebook almost never shows two similar pages to a user. They are always a little bit different (button sizes, font style, layout). They collect the data (CTR, time the user spends on the page) , analyze it and choose the better working version for their next update.
